Summer school holiday courses

Every summer our students have different needs. Some need to pass an English examination at the end of the summer. Others have come from outside of Spain and are learning English to get a place in an international school on the Costa del Sol.

Often students just need to learn the mathematical terms in English before entering their new international school. Some are leaving international schools and want to maintain their English.

However hard it is to study in summer, there is always time for a birthday party!

There is always time for a birthday party at Angela's School!

In this birthday party picture taken during the summer of 2008 you can see the whole teaching team, Clare Lewin and Rosario Prieto at the back on the left, and then Lili Elberg and Angela and Michael Drury at the back on the right.

To give you an idea of what happens on a typical school day in the summer, amongst the students above you will find a girl moving from a local German school to one of the Marbella international schools, one local international student revising IGSCE maths skill, another completing a holiday maths project, and the remainder polishing their English skills before the new term in September
.

Two of the students are native English speakers and seven others are already attending local international schools and as a result the level of English spoken between students is high. This gives new students immediate and continuous immersion in the English language.

Because students who have learned English with us, often come back for extra help after they have got into their destination international school, we have a continous mixture of new students who are new to the coast and students who are already in the international schools. This makes it very easy for students who are new to the coast to meet their future school colleagues and sometimes even their future class mates. This makes their integration a lot easier and contributes towards the "magic factor".
