Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are exciting times in your child’s primary education as they are expected to be able to apply their learning and begin to develop reasoning skills.
During these classes our teachers cover all elements of the Literacy syllabus including spelling, grammar and punctuation, reading comprehension and guided and creative writing tasks. Learners are encouraged to undertakeproject work, both individually and in small groups and present their work to their classmates.
In Numeracy, we work with our Key Stage 2 learners to ensure that they have a solid understanding of the fundamentals. They will become much more confident with maths: adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing, as well as doing mental calculations and solving problems using time, measure and money. By the end of Year 6 the children should have a secure grasp of their times tables up to 12.
